The line-up
- 1
Orient Ray II
7/10 · For the beeeechAbout GBP 100 for a fully in-house 200m diver: lovely case, applied indices, generous lume, but a pathetic thin crown, a stiff bezel the case overhangs and a jingly-jangly bracelet with hollow end links.
- 2
Orient Kamasu
8/10 · For the beeeechAbout GBP 150 more for the same case with slightly better bevelling, a nicer bezel that's easy to grip and a shimmering emerald sunburst dial; same tiny crown and the same rubbish clasp.
- 3
Orient Triton
8/10 · For the beeeechA cut above the other two, the baby OSD: a bezel on a different level altogether, a power reserve indicator, a thicker crown that's easy to use, and brilliant for GBP 300 to 400.
- 4
Orient Saturation Diver Professional 300m (OSD)
9/10 · Beyond thunderdomeThe top tier, out of production and now around GBP 1,500: a bulbous monolith with the Marinemaster 300's titanium clasp, the Gen 2 is my favourite, and anyone with a wrist under seven inches need not apply.
