Battle of the behemoths: OSD, Doxa 1500T and the Marinemaster that out-angles them all

The battle of the behemoths. These are my three biggest watches, all famous megaliths: the Orient Saturation Diver Professional 300, the Doxa Sub 1500T and my Seiko Marinemaster 300 SLA023. Not many people have compared the Marinemaster with the OSD, so I thought I'd do it side by side.

Sizes, bezels, bracelets, finishing, who flops on the wrist and who doesn't, and a lume shot at the end to settle it. It's a long one, bros, so grab a drink.

The verdict

For me the Marinemaster is the best watch in the world. I prefer it to the GS divers, the case finishing beats even the Doxa, and in the lume shot it outshines everything. The OSD is a worthy adversary and a bargain, and the Doxa has the best movement and wears more comfortably than the OSD, but the SLA023 is the one.

Orient's best ever watch, a bananas piece and a bargain at less than half the price of the other two, but 46mm, 54.5mm lug to lug and over 220 grams means you won't wear it well all day.

Doxa Sub 1500T Searambler

Almost the same size as the OSD but a far shorter 47mm lug to lug, so much more wearable, with exceptional bracelet and clasp, the best movement of the three, a slightly misaligned bezel and lume that sucks.

My favourite watch ever made: the smallest of the three but finished above and beyond even the Doxa, the best handset in the business and lume that's insane.
