Sprite: not a Rolex, but pretending to be one, and it looks exceptional
The Sprite
This is the SSK035K1, bi-colour green in Seiko's words, but all the fanboys call it the Sprite after the Rolex GMT-Master II. It's not a Rolex, but it's pretending to be one. Very eye-catching, probably one of the best sellers, and it looks exceptional. It really does. Gold GMT hand. Jubilee for days. Wears great.
Remember the price: retail £420, but new for between £260 and about £350. There is no one else doing a heritage in-house mechanical GMT anywhere near that.
Clasp and bezel
Look in the clasp direction and we have a stamped-out non-milled piece of junk, four micros, no dive extension. The end links may be semi-hollow or they may not. Who cares? The bezel isn't like the Landmaster's, which wasn't going anywhere unless you wanted it to. This one moves as you wind it, but it's okay. Not too bad. And the cyclops can go immediately.
Verdict
The Sprite, I mean, it is beautiful. It really is. It's one of my two picks of the bunch. Still tag.
