Banana case, sublime lacquer bezel, £500 used: the Gen 1 MM200 is a keeper

My favourite Marinemaster 200

Mr Jun's SPB077, the Gen 1 MM200, J1, April 2019. The 6R15 version, no longer in production. Mr Jun loves this watch. I think it cost £1,000 new, he paid £500 in lovely condition, and he's put a few dings on it since. One of my favourites, bros. Beautiful case. The banana case, the high polish. Unbelievable twerp. Lovely lacquer bezel, and the bezel action is sublime. Sounds buttery. Everything about it is great.

The arrow and the guts

A lot of people don't like the arrow hour hand. It's growing on me, though I'd probably have preferred a different handset. The 6R15 does 21,600 vph and 50 hours; the Marinemaster 300s have the 8L35 and cost about three times more. Seiko says 12.7 mm thick, my calipers say 13.3, about 44 across. Who cares. Lovely and slim, and it wears extremely comfortable. The loom is mental, but the 300s are better. You'd expect that for the money.

Verdict

You can pick them up for around £500 now. You can't go wrong. It's a keeper. Never give up.
