300 metres on a 29.5 mm ladies' Conquest: Swiss made, and it's not a joke
Not a diver, but pretty much
Ladies' watch review tonight, bros, from my partner's Longines. There's a La Grande Classique, a DolceVita and a gold Symphonette in the box, but the review is this one, and it's actually my favourite out of these, because it's 300 metres water resistant. It's not a diver, but it pretty much is. The Longines Conquest Moonphase, ladies' quartz. You all know the men's versions. I love it. If it was a bit bigger I'd wear it myself.
Small, but it drapes
29.5 mm, 10 mm thick, 36 mm lug-to-lug: a reasonable size for any lady, even with a smaller wrist. The end links turn inwards instead of sticking out, so the bracelet drapes straight down and it wears even smaller. 15 mm, no taper, down to a twin-trigger butterfly clasp that's milled out and done exceptionally well. Screw-down crown, screw-down caseback with the winged hourglass and EFC in deep relief. A real bonus.
Blue, diamonds and the moon
Lovely blue sunray dial. Hard to show on camera, but in daylight it really shows off. Eleven Top Wesselton diamonds, extremely small but top quality. Polished hands, no lume, seconds hand hitting the minute track exactly, framed date at three. Pop the crown out once for the date, turn it the other way and the moon phase spins round. Excellent. Very nice. Inside is an ETA-based Longines quartz with an end-of-life indicator, about five years on a battery, and less than one second a month deviation. Incredibly accurate.
The catch
It's fully polished. No brushed surfaces anywhere. Crown guards, bezel, lug tops, flanks, mid links, all polished, and they scratch so easily. Only the outer links are satin. Look at the caseback: very scratched up. You will have to deal with that. You need to look after these.
Verdict
A Swiss made 300 metre watch at 29.5 mm. It's not a joke. A lot of people slag Longines off, but they make excellent pieces, extremely well made, top quality. Pop it next to my Doxa 1500 for a size comparison. Look at it. Ladies, you're gonna love this watch. I swear to God it really is a great piece. Stay freaky, and never give up. No, not even once.
