SRPE75: champagne, chainmail and a bezel that split my thumb
Champagne on mesh
Another of Seiko Steve's 5 Sports, the SRPE75K1. A champagne dial with a beautiful concentric sunburst, a black bezel, black accents on the indices, a dark applied logo and black on the rehaut. Quite different. It sits on a heavily built, excellently constructed Milanese-style mesh bracelet, which is really nice. Then you get this little clasp, all flippy-flappy and a bit wobbly. It does adjust. Steve's done it. I can't figure out how. Reattaching it means fiddling little hooks onto a little pipe.
The bezel and the glow
You cannot move this bezel. It actually hurts me. It made my thumb split. Round the back, the ugly movement spinning away. But when the light went and the torch came out: look at him glow. He really does glow. Lumibrite's pretty great, even in its lesser variants.
Verdict
In the 5KX video: not my cup of tea, but I can see why people like it. Get rid of it, rubbish piece of junk. Two days later, one last slap on the beef wagon: I don't like to admit that I like it, but actually I do. I do. Never give up.
