SRPD51K1: the blue twerp that wants to be good, twice, and the two couldn't be more different
Two of the same twerp
Steve bought two SRPD51K1s just to see the differences, and bros, they're stark. Blue sunburst dial and blue bezel on both, but the bezels are different colours, one dial is much glossier and shimmers a lot more, and one date wheel is French and English while the other is in Kanji. RRP £280, available for £160 to £170.
The first one wants to be good, and I do like it. Look at that. It does look nice. The second one? They are both tech, but that one is way better. Now the bezel actions. Loose on one. On the other, so stiff it hurts my fingers to turn it.
Verdict
In the 5KX video I looked at these two and said, get rid of them. But on its own, in the extravaganza, I said it looks great. It's not an SKX. It's not saying it's a diver. It is a blue twerp, a sports twerp, a Seiko 5, and it has a lot of great credentials. Pick the good one.
