Under seventy quid, 37 mm, exemplary dial: what a little beauty she is

All other reviewers are shite

Absolutely proper. I've come to a conclusion, bros: all YouTube watch reviewers are shite. I've watched their pathetic attempts. Riddled with technical inaccuracy. Boring, dribbling explanations. The fact remains that Gethin Christian is for the beeeech, and all facts here are bona fide.

So. Tonight, the SNK803K2. Better known as the Seiko 5 Military. Big Chris bought this for his wife-to-be. Barbara, what's up? And you can find one for under 70 pounds.

A staggeringly small warrior

This little warrior comes in at a staggeringly small 37 mm, 11 mm high, 43 lug to lug, and tips the scales at a paltry 60 grams. 18 mm lugs, undrilled, on a nylon strap. Hardlex crystal. 30 metres of water resistance. Splash your testes in the sink, and don't forget to dry them off, because this watch is not water resistant. It will not survive the ravages of deep-water diving.

Off the cushion. What a little beauty she is. An entry-level in-house automatic. Fantastic. The nylon strap is poor quality, but at this level what do you expect? What I do like is the reinforcement in the buckle holes, so you can wear it over and over without stretching it. Quite clever. And a bead-blasted tang buckle, signed.

What you get for 69 pounds

The 7S26. We all know it, the one from the SKX, now discontinued. Look at the balance wheel. No decoration whatsoever on this time lord. A high-polish caseback, and the date code says December 2018, so it's not an old one. Pop the crown, but there's no hacking for precise time setting. The day comes in French and English. Very good.

Exemplary

This concentric dial is exemplary. Look at its beauty. Military, absolutely functional. The rehaut is perfect, the minute track aligned fantastically well, and the Seiko 5s get a flash of class with that applied logo. Absolutely proper. Blacked-out hands with a red tip. Beautiful. The bead-blasted case is quite functional. Side by side with my SKX in the dark, both on the 7S26? Quality speaks for itself.

Verdict

What do I think about it? I think it's great. There's not much more to be said. I hope that's been an enlightening review for all of you who like mechanicals. Stay freaky, bros, and never, never give up.
