The Helmet: a 1970s reissue with a sub-dial I don't need, because I have a window

I don't know about this one

Next in the box, the quite wonderful and, well, I don't know about this one: the Helmet, from the Seiko 5 Sports range. A reissue of an ancient Time Lord, bearing a resemblance to the 6139 of the 1970s. 45 mm case, 22 mm lugs, around 210 English pounds. Affordable.

Day or night?

Inside, a 24-jewel 4R37. A strange movement with a pointless 24-hour sub-dial, which allows you to see whether it's day or night. I prefer to look out of the window. Then the bracelet. Do you like it? Look at those stamped links. Not unusual for all of us who've paid our dues, but there it is.
