Unreal Scenario (unrealscenario.com) is a watch-review site based on Gethin Christian's YouTube channel, run by Gethin Christian. You can browse it without an account. This page explains what happens if you create one.
What we store
If you sign in, we store your email address, and, if you use Google, your name and profile picture as Google provides them. We store the watches you mark as "I own it" or "Want it", and, if you choose one, your public handle and whether your collection is public. If you add them, we also store a picture you upload, a display name, your wrist and watch-size measurements (your "beefstone"), and the beers you send to other members and whether they accept.
How you sign in
Either with a one-time link sent to your email, or with Google. With Google we only ask for your basic profile and email (the "openid email profile" permissions). We don't see your Google password, your YouTube activity or anything else in your Google account.
What we do with it
Only run your account: keep you signed in (a secure cookie), show you your saved watches, and show your collection publicly if you switch that on. Your profile is public by default: other signed-in members can see your name, picture, how many watches you own and want, your latest one, and any beers between you, on the crew page, and if you pick a handle, your collection is visible at your link. Switch "Public profile" off on your "My twerps" page and other members can't see you there; guzzle buddies you already have can still see you in their list. Your email is never shown to anyone else. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
Where it lives
On Cloudflare's servers (the site, sign-in and database). Sign-in emails are sent through Cloudflare's email service. Videos on the site are played through YouTube's privacy-enhanced player, which only loads when you press play. The 30-second song clips on the Music page stream from Apple's servers when you press play; no Apple player or cookies are loaded. Your browser remembers your language and a few display settings on your own device; we don't use tracking or advertising cookies.
Affiliate links
Some links to shops (eBay, Amazon and the beer links) are affiliate links. If you buy something after clicking one, Gethin may earn a small commission from the shop, at no extra cost to you. It never changes what he says about a watch or the score he gives it. As an Amazon Associate, Gethin earns from qualifying purchases. As an eBay Partner, he may earn a commission when you buy through eBay links. The shop may use its own cookies to record that you came from here; that happens on the shop's site, under its privacy policy, not ours.
Your choices
You can change your name or picture, or make your profile private, at any time on your "My twerps" page. To delete your account and everything saved with it, email [email protected] and we'll remove it.
